Our little pig-head

There is a slice of Aaron's personality that comprised of a rare streak of pig-headed, iron will that pales in comparison to anything either of us have ever heard of or experienced... adult or child. One of the topics that rolls into that is pedaling. It is something that both of us have witnessed him do, on his own, and yet when given the option to pedal, or not to pedal... he chooses not to, with decidedly more conviction than is really necessary.

So, here's our big three year old on a trike that is close to being too small for him, riding it around by pushing his feet, Flintstones style.

It frustrates us watching him, knowing that he could easily be having much more fun, get around faster, and perhaps avoid foot related-running over injuries... if he would just stop being a pig-head this once. At our new house we have an asphalt driveway, opposed to our rocky driveway in Boerne, so it is perfect for trikes and bikes. Aaron has a nice bike that Granny and Pa got him for Christmas last year, but one must first learn to pedal. It would be nice to pass the trikes on to Adam and upgrade, but in Aaron's case, he must first choose to pedal.
So he appeased us one evening a couple of weeks ago and pedaled his trike for a few minutes, I documented it, and he hasn't really done it since. As Aaron would say, "This is so, so, so ridiculous."

Adam and I watching... Adam thinking, "What is the big deal? If my legs were a little longer I would show you how to do it." He may very well get the chance in the not too distant future.
