First of all, Aaron has been walking backward, a lot lately. It makes me laugh so hard to watch him because once he gets going, it appears as though he cannot stop, so he continues until he runs into a wall or a piece of furniture. It is almost as if he knows how to start, but not how to shift into drive, from reverse. Obviously the only way to show this to you is through a video. I think it looks like moon walking, hence the title...
Mother's Day was relaxing and enjoyable. Since Alan was on shift, Aaron and I braved church alone and he was nice enough to let me hear the entire sermon this time! Here he is in his cute church clothes...

Later that week we had to bring Daddy back to play...
Today he taught himself how to flush the toilet and that seemed to elevate him straight to nirvana. Which was fine with me, because he temporarily forgot about his horrible diaper rash.
We have a new member of the family: "Doggie." Aaron is obsessed with dogs, pointing out dogs, yelling out "daw-g," calling things that are not dogs, dogs - even if they bear no resemblance. I remembered that Alan got him a few stuffed animals when he was very young, so I pulled them out and sure enough, there was a "daw-g!" He loves it. Kisses, nuzzies, special time that Mommy is not allowed to see - it is quite amusing. He also uses it to exercise his body part identification too - right now we just know "nose" and "eye." The newness has not worn off yet, so we are trying to make the most of it.
He is making all sorts of new noises, syllables, and word attempts. Lately he mocks what Alan says or if I am ranting about something he will start giggling and saying "yayaya!" It generally makes me laugh and then I forget what was going on in the first place. This video shows his "yaya" but it is during his morning energy release instead of in mocking me - at least that's what I think...
He doesn't play much these days, he seems content to just bring one of us a book, put his arms up (to be picked up) and sit in our lap while we read a story - even if it is the same one over and over and over again. I can sing "Barnyard Dance" in my sleep.
These are just precious so I had to include them. Aaron was quite tired after getting home from an outing and was being extra cute - plus he looks so little when his Daddy holds him...

That is great. He will have a lot to say once the words come out right! Remind me to show you the MN version of Barnyard Dance sometime.
