Aaron has added pineapples, strawberries, cheese, yogurt and several other things to his diet. He has done quite well with new foods, so long as they are not slimy or too chunky, then he'll stick his finger in his mouth and in one sling-shot like motion he'll fling it out of his mouth to be splattered on the nearest clean shirt.
He has three new teeth coming through the gums right now, which means constant drooling and finger chomping, and crying - lots of crying. These teeth are his cuspids (canines) so they are a little broader than the incisors, so we think that is why he is in a little more pain this time. He is definitely keeping it real (in Alan terms) though and at this rate should have a whole mouth full of teeth in a matter of weeks.
You know, technically he is a year old already because he was born in a leap year. Random thought.
On a slightly reflective note, I find the post from exactly a year ago intriguing (see below). It is about being surrounded by pregnant ladies while I waited, somewhat impatiently, for our day. I still find myself surrounded by preggers... a different BSF class, in a new town, friends, etc... Don't drink the water.
From February 6th, 2008
"Waiting: to remain stationary in a place of expectation and readiness, to look forward expectantly, to be ready and available. I think that God uses the waiting place to grow patience and trust in him. My husband so accurately pointed out that this is just another reminder of who really is in control of things.
In the meantime I find myself surrounded by pregnancy and babies. I have several friends at BSF who are pregnant, a couple of family members, and a close friend who is due any minute. Not to mention the strangers I seem to pass everywhere. They were either always there and I didn’t notice because it had little to do with me – or now there are just more pregnant strangers, I haven’t figured that one out yet. Then there are those who are so excited for us and continually ask, in case they may have missed the big event. Believe me, between the anticipation and excitement of Alan and I, our parents and close friends, everyone will probably know, whether they care to or not.
It seems silly – one can prepare for nine and three-quarters months and just have periodic bouts of anticipation while preparing the nursery or shopping – then comes the last week and it seems to be all that I can think about. Rest assured, when something should happen, I’ll be the one shouting and praising God from the rooftop.
Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite. Or waiting around for Friday night or waiting perhaps for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil or a better break or a string of pearls or a pair of pants or a wig with curls or another chance. Everyone is just waiting.— Dr. Seuss"
