November 17 - Since the zoo trip worked so smoothly, Alan was itching to get out again. This time we would head west toward Inks Lake State Park. The weather, however, was throwing us a curve ball, so a slight adjustment meant a later departure... so the boys and I had time to make fun Thanksgiving hats.

We drove around Lake Buchanan for a while and explored a couple of potential future camping spots while we waited for the clouds to break. The water level was up a great deal from the last time we were there in the fall. The sight of a dock hundreds of yards from the water's edge is very depressing, so it was good to see that some of the lake parks and homes were close again. The weather was strange, bright sun rays piercing through dark, active rain clouds. It was neat to watch from the car, but would nix our hope of hiking if it didn't clear up.
At Inks Lake SP, the boys burned some energy on the playground while I fed Autumn then we went across the park road to the Pecan Flats camping area.

Mama and kids. It is still a bit surreal that I have three kids.
Having hiked the Pecan Flats area a few times we knew that it was very level and the jogging stroller would suffice for a greater chance of a napping baby. She had other things in mind, like bird watching and leaf peeping...

And brother watching... a favorite hobby of hers.

Since she was awake, we all went to the top of this lookout.
It was sometime after this that Autumn had a major blowout in her car seat/stroller. Thankfully I was prepared with gear and a change of clothes - because she doesn't really do anything small, so I always have back up ready. Nothing like cleaning a giant liquidous poo mess in the middle of the woods.

It was their idea to put their arms around each other.
