Life so far... week one

It's kind of funny and scary to think that today, July 20, 2015 was the day we had our induction scheduled. It was the soonest that the medical board would "allow" our doctor to induce for the sole reason of a big baby. I would have been 39 weeks pregnant today. Instead, God once again proved that He's the one in control of such things and today we have an eleven day old precious angel.

Picture taking has reached all new heights. I took tons of pictures with Aaron, because I didn't have much else going on. Adam was totally shafted because that was both pre-iPhone and baby-with-a-toddler-stage... so, not many pictures. Now, we have very reliable and high quality cameras at our finger tips - so there's a lot to cull.

Here's some highlights from Autumn's first week...
Meeting Grandma and the boys. 7.10.15
Sweet sleeper. 7.11.15
Who doesn't love a Daddy-chest-nap? 7.11.15
It didn't take her long to stretch out those legs. I can't even imagine squishing all of that in my tummy.
Baby buns.
Talking with her older big brother. He's pretty sweet on her. 7.12.15

The boys were chomping at the bit to get a chance to "snuggle with Autumn" so we set them up and coached them through it... (7.12.15)
Then... more eating and more sleeping.
And more sleeping.
On 7.13.15 we took her to her first Doctor's appointment. It was just a basic well-baby check up which she, not surprisingly, passed with flying colors.
All dressed up for her first outing (if the doctor counts as an outing).
5 days old... more chats with Aaron. If he sees her on the bed in between feeding he runs in to say hi. (7.14.15)
She's starting to open her eyes more and more.

While Autumn and I rested at home, the boys went over to the river again and played around for a while to burn some energy and get out of the house... (7.14.15)

The next day, July 16th, I'm excited to announce that her umbilical cord stump of grossness came off and we were able to give her a bath. 6 days old. For the most part she liked it or tolerated it as long as we kept her warm.

Later that day we took her 6 day photo for her baby announcements. I wanted to put a little tiny bow on her so that she would be noticeably different than her brothers' photos...
Look at all of that fluffy blonde hair! So soft and cute!
One week - Talking with Daddy.
Eyes!!!
She made the wall... look how similar all of our children looked at this age!
That afternoon the boys went back to the river again. They have to take advantage of it while there is still water flowing because soon the "dog days" will take over and every ounce of moisture will disappear. This time they took Aspen along. It was her first real experience swimming.
A man and his beast.
A little video documentation to bring back to Mama...

So, that's week one... things are going well, Autumn is thriving, and I am starting to feel a little more human each day. It's a pretty good place to be.
