While playing outside one afternoon...

The Red Poppy Festival has been a yearly occurrence for us since we moved here to Georgetown. It is a really neat weekend long event full of all sorts of things for the kids and family to do. This year we went with my sister and the Meachams.

This year involved an amazing new experience... a shuttle bus. Aaron was a little concerned about the lack of car seats on the bus, but once he was over that I think they enjoyed their little ride on the bus... easily amazed...

Things to do while waiting for a parade to start...

Do your best to annoy Mama and ask for a drink of water every twenty seconds.

Take cute pictures.

Tell Aunt Jenny riveting stories.

Play in the middle of the street. They get really excited when the roads are closed, it's like they are getting away with bad things.

Let balloons go and watch them fly off.

Once the parade was under way....

And sparkly dancing girls... the parade was complete.

We walked around for as long as we could, it was a bit still and got warm in a hurry, so we were back on the bus and headed home...

A few days later we had an award ceremony for Awana. The boys haven't participated in many ceremonies like this (as most public school kiddos do), so it was interesting and another new experience...
