The rest of September

When we got home from Colorado, the boys wasted no time at all getting in their backyard. They had a lot of time to make up for. One evening Aaron threw a fit because he slid on the wet ground and got a little dirty. It's in times like these that Alan and I can't help but to record the event....
The video is classic Aaron. And Adam for that matter as he tried to "help" with watering plants...
Doing some work. Look at the effort. I'm not sure where those water buckets were headed, but it was serious.
This was a cannon. Adam is illegally on top of the truck in the background.
We went over to our friends the Meachum's house one afternoon so that the kids could play and us mamas could work on a craft project...
Finished product.
Adam chugging along at his reading lessons.
My sister and her husband found out that they would very shortly be moving (from San Antonio) to the Austin area so they came up one weekend to look at houses and we watched Braelynn. The boys love to play with her and show her things. I'm not too sure, at this point, she was on board with the smothering-style attention.
But then her Mama came back and all was well with the world.
In late September we went to our "back to school" picnic for our homeschool group. The boys had a lot of fun running around and playing yard games...

Bouncy house full of boys.
They speak the same language.

Aaron pretty excited to receive mail.
Boys helping Daddy unload from a fishing trip.
The weather was nice (on 9.29.14) so we took a little day adventure into Austin. Our first stop was to check out the new board walk that skirts the river...
Turtle watching.

The west side has lots of trees.
After lunch we went to the capitol building and explored a little bit. I think it was the first time that either of the boys had been there.
They especially enjoyed the basement which they were convinced was actually a dungeon.
There's a replica of this statue at the Bob Bullock museum. We call her the scary lady.
You can see why... that's a creepy looking man-woman.
