The beginning of July

With all of their new swimming "experience," we got them a pool. They didn't seem to notice or care that is was only about eighteen inches deep.
Complete with dreamy lifeguard.
One of the heinous tobacco worms that invaded our tomato plant. Interesting looking but unbelievably destructive for its size.
Adam is a quick learner when it comes to the computer. His current favorite thing is doing puzzles.
Random after shower photo of a cooled Hookie (Adam).
Adam hard at work. He is doing very well and takes his "reading lessons" seriously (surprisingly).
Big brother doing something serious.
Independence Day! Alan had to work, so he missed the parade and I know he was bummed about that [sarcasm]. We joined our neighbors Jessica and Zak and went in to the Round Rock Parade. We think it is the best one around.
Aaron, Adam and Zak decked out and waiting for the parade to start.
Firetruck, check.
For all of the scary things that happen in Round Rock.
A cool float by one of the many boy scout troops in the parade.
Some classic cars, check.
Giant Bevo in a motorcycle trailer, check.
Watching the Round Rock FD Pipes and Drums coming.

The Fire Department had all of their antique trucks out... very neat!
The boys were pretty excited about this truck.
This cherry Scrambler was part of a Jeep club. Most of them were new Jeeps though.
Bonecrusher?
Jessica and Zak stayed for lunch and then we did some school work and crafts...
Safety first.
They entertained themselves for quite a while with the London pop up book from Uncle Matt and Aunt Fi. They never tire of that book.
Hayley is a very good dog. She doesn't dig, she is excellent with the boys, obedient, and very friendly. She has one strange quirk though. She trips out when fireworks go off anywhere in a thirty or so mile radius. And by tripping out I mean losing her mind, ignoring all of her training, calculating the weakest link in the backyard perimeter and digging a tiny hole, just large enough to squeeze herself under. Then she frantically sprints around the neighborhood eating strange things and foaming at the mouth. Oddly, when she's finished exercising her demons, she comes back and lets herself in the backyard.

Since Alan was on shift, I was not up for searching for a dog in the middle of the night by myself, so I bathed her and she spent a couple of days inside. It's a rare occurrence in the middle of summer, but it was the only way to keep her calm and the boys certainly had fun with her... especially Adam...

They have a special bond.
