B-25 Devil Dog, built in 1944.
Aaron getting a peek inside.
P-51 Mustang Buzzin' Cuzzin, a WWII fighter plane.
A nice looking modern airplane of little distinction and no known history, to me at least.
Pietenpol Air Camper. This one was built by Kevin Purtee over a period of sixteen and a half years. He built it using Bernard Pietenpol's 1929 plans and the 80 horsepower motor of a Chevy Corvair.
Stearman PT-17
Aaron checking out the Nanchang CJ 5, also called a Chinese Yak, because it is the Chinese version of the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-18, which came into service in 1946.
Aaron in the middle of a "Happy Dance." He was somewhat overwhelmed by everything... so he would take a few steps and then break into a Happy Dance.
MI-24 Hind. Used in Bulgaria in the 1980's, it is a combination troop transport and attack helicopter.
L-29 Delfin, a Czech jet trainer built in 1965. This one was in service in the Czech air force until 1991.
They were discussing the engine.
Watching the Huey start up...
The MI-24 Hind's nickname is "Krokodil" (Crocodile) from its camoflauge color and fuselage shape.
This one is owned by the Cold War Air Museum in Lancaster, Texas.
A well-earned snack of exceptionally good tasting kettle-corn.
