Two quick things before I go find a dark and quiet place to hide for a while...
1. While talking to Aunt Jenny today on the video chat, Aaron said the following... "Yeah, the pool was nice but it was full of a lot of c-r-a-p." It didn't register at first because he was talking fast and slurring his words in excitement, but I asked him to repeat and he had indeed spelled out the word crap. I guess he has learned my ways, time to change it up.
2. After an interesting day of Aaron being a mouthy little three-year-old boy, finding new ways to torment his brother, and new ways to push my buttons, I was ready for their bedtime. So we (all three of us... Daddy had to work today) go in to Aaron's room, sit down and start our prayer. We say a short prayer every night and at the end I ask him if there's anything else he needs to pray about and tonight he said "Help me be nice to my Baby Adam." Then he reached up and gave him a kiss. As Aaron was giving him a kiss, Adam (clear as day) told Aaron, "I love you." Then Adam turned and gave me a big sloppy kiss. Alan had thought he heard Adam murmur something like that before, but this time it was clear. Oh my goodness, I immediately went into Mommy Mush and cried.
I am thankful for moments like that... at the end of a day where I worked hard for my money, God reminds me that He is my strength, these boys are a gift from Him, and that they really are little angels at heart - even though there are several times throughout the day where I temporarily question, well just about everything.
