When Aaron woke from his nap, walked into the living room and saw the lights and tree, he got worried. This is a child who somehow always knows when something is not "right" or as it should be, and has always been scared of things both scary and just unusual. Example, in one of his 4WD (Jeep) magazines, there is a picture of a Jeep top that has a skull and cross bones on the back window. If he turns to that page he starts making his worried face and whimpering. How does he know that that is not kosher? Santa Claus is another - he is just scary. Oh, and driving through Fredericksburg, on our way to Enchanted Rock a couple of weeks ago, he started making the concerned whimper when he saw the garlands and wreaths up over main street... apparently no one ran that by him. Weird child. Anyway, that helps explain this video.
The good news is that he is okay with the Christmas tree now. Daddy's stocking is a Santa, and he is not quite sure about that or the hula Santa ornament hanging just at his eye level... he sometimes forgets it is there and gets too close and the whimpering kicks in. I told him that he is going to have to get used to at least Christmas trees, because I love them :)
Just to show that everything is fine now, here's normal goofy Aaron, an hour or so later...
(The flash, it is just too much).
