First Birthday of February

February is a big birthday month around here. Three-fifths of us were born in February. Mama comes first. As it turns out, I spent my birthday with a few friends and a couple thousand strangers at the IF: Gathering in Austin. It was my first time to go to the big gathering and it was a lot of fun.

Took this while crossing the street... All for the boys because this is their favorite building.

Documentation. We decided to go with the upper deck. Less crazies and more space.

Second day lunch group. We went to Numero28, right next to Moody Theater and it was perfect. My sister (and Hope) met us the second day. 

Hope... barely a month old and already gets to go to IF. She slept through most of it though.

From night one. We were cold and in a hurry to beat the crowd, but wanted to try out this picture kiosk. It gave little to no warning of when to be ready, so, all things considered.... this is not too bad.

When I got home my family had sweet cupcakes and candles waiting for me.  The next day we went out to dinner at the Oasis in Austin.

Ah. Quite literally, I get weak in the knees.

Somewhere in those few days I managed Autumn's first pig tails. Surprisingly, she didn't mess with them but started acting crazy to let them flop around... probably sensed an increase in her speed capabilities.

  
She also finally figured out how to climb into this mini chair and was very proud of herself. It was her go-to spot for several days.

That same weekend was Autumn's first experience with the nursery at Church. It had gotten to the point where she was just too (happy) loud to take to service anymore so it was time. 

This first visit caught her off guard and I don't think she even knew to get upset. 

Sometimes you've just got to. It's serious business.

If anyone goes into serious mode, she has to come mess it up.

Speaking of serious mode... there is a basket in the kitchen that is full of old and extra sippy cups. It is the sacrificial basket.... that makes her feel like she's doing bad things when really it is no big deal, and this way she leaves the other stuff alone (for the most part). She will dump it out and spread its contents all over the place.
