Birthday Week: Adam #6

As if one boy getting older is not enough, four days later we do it again. Adam turned six on Friday, February 12, 2016. Six. Six years of a force the likes of which this world rarely knows. He's equal parts goober and active volcano. Smart as a tack, witty, intuitive loud, crazy and never runs out of gas. Ever.

Adam likes things that Aaron likes. They do everything together so it's just the nature of things. In addition to all of that, he likes puzzles and coloring books and seems to have more interest in helping me cook. Speaking of food - he loves food. Most all kinds of food. He regularly eats more than I do now and his favorite meal is pasta with meatballs, sweet corn, and bread. He asks for it every other night.

He recently learned to ride his bike without training wheels and does just about everything the bigger boys do (with the exception of a scary hill at Berry Springs). He now reads and likes to "play" grammar and spelling games. Oh, and his ability to memorize things is unreal.... from countries on a map to scripture verses for Awanas.... he's got it - a sponge. A trait he definitely got from his Daddy, not me.

When asked what Adam wanted to do for his birthday... 1. Go to the Zoo. Check. 2. Go bike riding at Berry Springs. 3. Go to dinner at Jack Allen's. So, that morning the boys went over to Berry Springs and rode around for a bit and discovered a different trail. After lunch we went to basketball at the Rec. Center then came home for cake and gifts.
They both get weird when the birthday song happens - so I waited and started videoing after we sang...
Adam fan club.
Aww, they really do love each other. When things get rough we try to help them realize how boring life would be without their brother. They are a perfect match - and make each other better while knowing exactly how to push each other's buttons.
A little documentation.
First snap tite model. I'll post another photo when he puts it together.
Looking at the Star Wars Look and Find book that Aaron picked out for Adam's birthday.
After gifts we cleaned up and went to supper. Adam's pick: Jack Allen's. He loves the macaroni and the pimento cheese that comes out before the meal. It was the second time that Autumn has been out to eat with us and she did great. Thankfully the service was quick and the low roar of the post-work Friday crowd was enough to camouflage her happy outbursts. It was a good day. Happy 6th Birthday Adam Christopher.
