Colorado Day 3 - Relaxing around town

Day Three: Wednesday, September 3, 2014

On our first morning in Lake City we went to the grocery store and then walked into town. We had planned to lay low and settle in and of course Alan would go fishing that afternoon.

The boys played on the playground in the town park while Alan walked on to the Sportsman to get a few things that he needed for his afternoon fishing endeavor. We didn't want to go far because we knew that my parents would be arriving in town sometime before lunch.

The Jeep Alan is always happy to gaze in on. It's owner is the owner/operator of the Lake City Sweets shop.

After lunch Alan went off to fish and the rest of us walked into town again, but this time it involved ice cream!
Aaron and Grandpa.
San Juan Soda Company. The best place in the world to get ice cream. I finally remembered to take a picture of the soda fountain bar. The same two girls have been running for as long as I can remember. They were teenagers back then and now they have families of their own.
Grandpa chasing.
Grandpa sliding.
After we played a bit (for the second time that day), we took the long way back to the cabin via the trail system.
They were trying to lose me and then hide in the bushes.
But Adam got distracted and had to throw rocks in the river.
My parents.
