We celebrated my birthday a day early because on the day of, Alan would be on shift. We originally planned to go to a new park and hike a bit, but the weather forecast was way off and it was cold and drizzly all day. So, we went with some indoor alternatives.
First stop, the new Austin Aquarium. For what it was, it was pretty alright. Unfortunately it was not the [sarcasm] amazing selection of aquatic animals or the beautiful enclosures that excited our boys... nope. It was the large indoor playground. For a converted Albertson's grocery store (or something similar), it was a cool idea... it just seemed like they had yet to finish putting it all together.
But, it was something different and for that, we enjoyed it. I'll preface these photos by saying the lighting inside was really dark and strange, so most of the photos are blurry or strange looking... but that's all the documentation we got, so it works...
This video is not cooperating, so I'm inserting it at the beginning. After lunch, the boys wanted to try this "Hurricane Machine," which supposedly simulated hurricane force winds. Thankfully, the winds were not that strong, but the boys seemed to enjoy it...

After the aquarium we took a scenic route to the mall and hit up the Lego store and a few others...

| On my actual birthday I got a very early surprise song... one they did not want memorialized in photo or video... I had to try. |
