September trip to the coast

A few days after we got home from Colorado we went for the other extreme... the beach. We prefer Port Aransas in the fall once everyone has returned to work and school, when it is still plenty warm to play in the water, but not sweltering.
Fresh out off a four hour car ride, sans shirts and head for the water.
Or in their case the giant pile of bulldozed sand and seaweed.
The next morning they were much better outfitted and with tools in hand they got down to business...
Carefully examining each of Alan's catches.
Grumpily posing for a few of Mama's photos.
Rolling in the surf.
And must stop for snacks.
When the sun got too intense they moved into the shade. They always gravitate toward the things that are not really "toys."
A little downtime at the rental house.
And we were back at it again, this time I was set on getting a few good photos of the boys playing.
One of our breaks from the beach involved checking out the Marine Science Institute. It was small but offered a nice change.
Hey look, it's Mama.
With a bucket and some sort of sand/dirt product, our children will be happy for hours.
Hard at work.
Alan's mini-me hard at work...

We also drove over to the National Seashore and walked around a bit before a big storm came through.
A little video documentation of our few days at the coast...
