We took a brief Jeep ride to check out a park I read about online called Berry Springs Park and Preserve. It is only about eight minutes from the house, but north - all of this time we've been exploring in the western and southern directions.
It is a giant plot of land that was donated quite a while ago and appears to be comprised of a few fields, a couple creeks (currently dry) and a pecan orchard. There are a couple of nice pavilions, a playground, trails, and a little historic building where they keep two donkeys. Neat place, very peaceful and far enough away from civilization that I'd expect it to be fairly quiet most of the time...
