First time to Fiesta Texas

Considering the prominent place Fiesta Texas holds in our family's history, it was only a matter of time before the boy got introduced. On top of that, Grandpa still spends a significant amount of his time there and so we had to visit him too. We picked up Grandma and walked around the park for a couple of hours. We all agreed that the decorations were extra pretty this year and it was fun to hear the music and see the Christmas tree lighting. The line to see Santa was quite long and I decided it wasn't the best use of our time, so we settled for a quick family photo at the entrance of Santa's Castle. In case you are curious about Alan's new fashion trend, the bandages are covering the evidence of some "technicalities," as Alan so eloquently states, which he encountered in a fire on shift last Monday. Then we met up with Grandpa and Uncle Chuck for the tree lighting ceremony. It has been too long since Aaron last saw Chuck and his mustache, but it didn't take long to get reacquainted. As the tree was being lit, a few fireworks popped off. It was the first time Aaron had seen and heard fireworks. I was slightly nervous at first of how he would react, but with a strange yet delightful grin, he gazed and squinted as they went off. Once the show finished, he watched the smoke hover over us for a few seconds and looked for more fireworks. It was the perfect introduction: big and brief and he seemed to enjoy it.
