On Sunday morning I went out to check up on the baby cardinals and watched the daddy feed them for a little while. They were standing up on the edge of the nest and walking on top of each other. I knew it wouldn't be long before they were too big for the three of them to remain in that tiny nest. Not long at all... how about a couple of hours. Shortly after I took this video I came back and the nest was empty. I would like to think that they made the jump and have successfully learned how to find food and fend off beasts... but there is the omnipresent marbled cat that used to live next door until it decided to turn wild and periodically torment Alan by hanging out in the garage.
