17.5 Weeks!

I had an appointment this past Tuesday. It was another quick one where we talked for a little bit and then we listened to the heartbeat. The doctor found it immediately and it was much clearer this time around. She pointed out the movement noises and the blood vessels. It was pretty neat. Topping all of that was that my dad was there to experience it too. I guess when he found out mom got to hear the heartbeat at the last appointment he wanted to come too.

At the end of the appointment she said, “Well, I’ll see you in two weeks for the big one.” I clarified and found out that we didn’t have to wait a month, but only two weeks to get our ultrasound and find out the sex. So Alan and I will go back on September 20 for that appointment.

My sickness is almost gone now and I am quite thankful for that. I still have to be careful to eat often, but not too fast. My students are starting to warm up to me and beginning to ask questions. Luckily my schedule this year is such that I have about every other period off so I can rest and take care of business.

The picture is the best we could do in the bright sunshine. Alan worries about quality issues, but I just want to show you, who don’t see me often, what’s happening.
