Heartbeat

This morning I went to my second appointment. I was not sure what to expect. I know that they do not perform another ultrasound until week 20, so I was not too sure what would happen. It was a quick visit all together, I asked the doctor a list of questions then she rubbed some jelly on my stomach and using a wand-speaker device, she located the baby’s heartbeat. It took a few minutes to find, but it was an amazing sound, about twice the speed of my own heartbeat.

Mom and I were discussing over lunch, after the appointment, that it is difficult at this stage, because there is not much showing and I cannot feel the baby, so it is refreshing and a bit relieving to go in and hear the heartbeat.

My next appointment is just after Labor Day. I officially start work on August 20, but will go in a couple of times before that to set up my room. I hope to have the new guest room set up and the future nursery cleaned out by the time I start work. I think it is feasible. I'll have to let you know.
